Wim is a European specialist with background in land transport for more than 25 years. He was the permanent delegate of the International Road Transport Union (IRU) to the EU, involved with a broad spectrum of policy issues including market organisation, technical harmonisation, fiscal matters, road safety, infrastructure, intermodal transport, transport telematics and security.
As former spokesman for the European road transport employers Wim has acquired unique experience in the EU social sector dialogue and transport specific social legislation, including enforcement aspects. Other engagements included Board membership of the European Road Safety Federation (ERSF) and Chairman of SET, the European standardisation organsation for EDI.
